Officers were dispatched to a report of gunshots being fired in Erskine Street Apartments at approximately 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, March 23. While officers were en route to the call, a resident at 74 Pine Grove Ave. called 911 to report that a bullet entered the residence through a bedroom wall while residents were sleeping. The caller observed the suspects get into a vehicle and provided a description of same. Officer Josh Rollins located the vehicle traveling north on Pine Grove Avenue and attempted to initiate a vehicle stop, but all 3 occupants ran away from the car. Officer Rollins and Sgt. Ronnie Lance were able to catch one of the suspects, identified as Lawrence Robinson Jr., and he was cited and released to the custody of his grandmother. The other 2 occupants were initially seen by Det. Forrest Weaver. Officers Nathan Anderson, Daniel Reams, and Tanner Rhinehart took the 2 into custody after a foot pursuit through Erskine Street Apartments. Deshone Austin and John Wesley Collins were charged with Second-Degree Trespass and Resist, Delay, Obstruct, respectively. An incident was secured for Firing into an Occupied Dwelling at 74 Pine Grove Ave. Detective Weaver will conduct a follow at a later time. Nothing further to report.
